HP2 on ice

Just a few pics of our day out yesterday....it was a bit slippy

A bit more of a handful for the HP2 but with some momentum we were able to ride over the ice.

With the ground frozen there wasn't much grip anywhere.

Frozen ruts are not everyones favourite, you can almost hear Pumpy squealing in the photo

RobbieC's 950 super enduro was a bit of a beast in these conditions which he coped with brilliantly.

It was bound to happen sooner or later and my LC4 lost it's virginity as I dropped it for the first time,,,twice in fact

Conditions were so bad that everyone fell off , some several times but it seemed an unspoken rule that no photos of falls were taken

Erm, so I'd better not post those two shots that are on Advrider then?
It was a good day, no serious damage, and no injuries. Some spectacular riding by some would suggest "unsuitable" machinery given the conditions, finding grip where there was none.
At one point Hew, Louisdut and myself were all sliding downhill on our feet, whilst trying to keep my 640 upright, Timpo's Tenere started to slide backwards on its sidestand, and we were only half an hour into the ride!
Certainly warmed us up though.

Yeah ... I dropped my F800GS on this t'other day, couple of days out in Wales with some other 'silly buggers' not even a scratch though!

Great Day Out

I don't mind admitting, I was a little nervous at the start about riding with the big boys and girls, especially with all the ice around. But they're not as scary as they look, in fact they're really great people to go riding with.

Teamwork was in abundance, with plenty of help for line choice etc. from Hew & Earthmover. (Luckily only drop the Hp2 once and that was on Frozen grass but it was the frist but not the last thats for sure )

Not sure what tyres were needed, but I think we were all on the wrong ones

I was too scared to ask, what tyre pressures I should be running

Great to see teamwork in action, I think this where Pumpy commented about me hanging at the back, letting the front runners break the ice

It's all in a day's work for Timpo & Earthmover

Some flash git had a new number plate for Christmas

Then MORE ice. I pushed mine across as I think it's better to be a lame dick than a brocken dick

Timolgra was just too fast for the camera

Last lane of the day, thankfully just a short road ride back to the van

Great day out with great company.

Note to self: Perfect preparation prevents p!ss poor performance......... .

The RV at The Three Pigeons, it looked bootiful.......

First lane was Pentre Crossroads and then on to Moel Famau, and the ice.....

The trails are perfect for the larger bikes, obviously we missed the trickiest routes out, though the Pogos will not be so lucky.....

Pentre Potes never fails to please me, but if you pull your front brake you'll be off, isn't that right Pumpy......

I had a feeling that the next Byway would be covered with ice, I wasn't wrong......

Timolgra waited his turned whilst I binned my Tenere......

Light soon failed and we called it a day. There was about 20% of the route not recced, the ice had got the better of us.....

Just before we left the forest, I had a bit of trouble as my bike was to his liking.......
