Went for a nice bimble on the R80g/s ...did about 20miles and she went on to 1 then after a couple more stopped.

having a little road-side nose i noticed the HT leads had slipped out of the coils...pushed them both in as far as i could but fealt like it was just the gater holding them in place...she still only fired on 1 but got me home.

Took seat/tank off to see if i could do a better job of pushing them in but I seam to have a bit of an issue.... well in short I can't get them to push in to the inner brass/connection element, which seams a bit strange.

The metal connection piece on the end of the HT lead just seams too fat:confused:

Any advice please ....ta

It's not a problem I've had myself - and I've changed leads before on my airheads. Sounds simplistic, but you do need to shove em pretty hard. Presumably it was in there originally, so it will go back.

I have found white corrosion in the holes, so maybe a little clean out with a Dremel and a little conductive grease when refitting.
The plastic leads harden after time too, so maybe a nice new set of leads and new caps might be in order, caps don't last forever either!

I think the centre wire is supposed to be pushed through the hole in the connecter and soldered on the outside end .
It looks as if in the picture the centre wire is just bent over and the connector pushed over it .
This woild make it a lot more difficalt to push the connector into the hole.
Might be mistaken but i thinck thats what it looks like in the picture ? Hope this makes sence.
