Hugger or Mudsling on a LC????

Mine's a TC but I think the principle is the same.
Had a carbon fibre hugger fitted by the PO but never liked it. If you do get one, make sure it's the correct one. One I had was for a non ESA bike and every time it hit a bump it clicked against the ESA unit. Drove me mad.
Mudsling is a much more elegant idea as well as more effective. If you do go off road the hugger could cause problems with mud, too.
I also removed the 'shovel' as well and fitted a Cymarc rear fender extender as per the advice of a few others. Much cleaner look.
I'm sure much of this applies to the LC. Love the way you can personalise these bikes.

A Mudsling stops the shock and stuff in that area getting covered in shit. It doesn't stop your left calf and back of your boot getting covered in shit, or your bum cheek. The exhaust on the right stops the same assault by road crap on your person that side. Not tried a hugger on the GS so can't comment. I had the Mudsling ready to fit when I brought my GS home from the dealer brand new.

I have never really got on with huggers on any of my previous bikes and in most cases ended up removing them altogether. Some can be tricky to fit and get them positioned 'just right'.

Whereas the Mudsling is two screws and a couple of cable ties, and it is in exactly the right position to do the job. (Although don't tell anyone, but I was trying to fit mine upside down for the first couple of minutes after unwrapping it....... DOH!.....:blast)

Scott.

I went Mudsling and one for the front mud guard.. really pleased with them bought as a pair deal from Nippy Normans.. as others have said im not keen on huggers

Good choice. Dump that shovel and get a rear fender extender from NN or Cymarc. Or be a tight git and buy one from eBay.
You'll like the look.
If you want to keep the shovel, take it off and clean under the mounting. That's the only place mine had salt damage on the FD.
It collects there.
