I pick up my GS on Saturday and could do with some advice re preference and availability
of either a Mudsling or Hugger. Is the mudsling actually available yet anywhere? If not
what is a good alternative?

Hugger!

Think you might find, Martin, that unless you're planning some ill-advised mud-plugging that the hugger is better for keeping mucky water off the back of you and your new bike.
And Bee-Emm have a cheap kit of plastic bits that will help to keep your trousers respectable for longer.
There is a previous hugger thread somewhere with some good photos of an Ilmberger-equipped GS going through a ford. This convinced to spend 240-odd with Nippy Norman...

Here goes, a box arrived today .

Inside one puig hugger the finish is perfect and matches all the black plastics, the bracket has been beefed up and than powdercoated to match the plastics.

Cost £146 I personally like it, it complements the bike and does not look like its been thrown together .

Its like a tarts handbag and still only 1 mile on the clock :(

Looks good. Is that the Akra slip-on perchance?

Nice, I have it on my K16. The GS is quite a throaty note anyway, does it sound much different with the Akra?

Thanks for posting pic,s.
I like that,it looks like it will do a good job to.How long did it take to be delivered?

The bracket does look more substantial than theme which broke on the Puig hugger on my old GS

I had an Ilmberger on my Hexhead. It was well made and acknowledged to be a really good hugger. But it did not stop crap getting thrown about. The issue was muck hitting the TUV splash guard being sucked into the low pressure area under the seat. The hugger had some effect but not much.

The Mudsling has kept me and the bike a lot cleaner. Taking off the TUV splash guard and fitting a metal number plate extender has been even more useful.

To my mind the only way a hugger will keep the bike clean is if it reached all the way to the TUV splash guard with no gap.

Hugger

Seriously tempted. Just want something to stop me from getting covered in crap when out in the rain. On my previous GS i had a Mudsling and it worked a treat. I have the BMW infill panel on at the moment. To be honest i found them to have made very little difference. One question though. You quoted £146 as the price but it say £158 on the site. Did you use a discount code?

Ordered the carbon look one as the black plastic one is now out of stock until mid March.
