Hugger or Mudsling

Although they keep putting the delivery date back, I'm sticking with the Mudsling, as I've had it on my other GS's, and it offers the best protection against the elements.:thumb

Just received my Puig Hugger from BR Special Tuning. All I can say is brilliant service from the company.
Lots of e-mails and text messages kept me updated with how the purchase was going. Probably all automated
but at least they have made the effort to give great service. Definitely use them again and the hugger looks great.

Yeah, i was impressed on there service as well, delivery driver kept me informed via txt regarding collection from retailer to what time drop off would be, so nipped home within that time slot and bingo.

Great service.

Picked up my 2014 GS today. It now has BMW's own version of a mudsling as standard. Once I get a chance to put some miles on it, I'll know whether it is worth putting on a hugger as well. I don't think the mudsling will fit the 2014 model so probably not a GSA either.

The rear mudguard does come down lower on the 2014, but there's still room for the Mudsling.

Can you post a piccie or two please, i ordered a mudsling for my 2014, but if its not needed .......

Ah yes, page ten it is there. Looks ok, undecided now. Mudsling not exactly cheap at £130 quid. wonder what nippy norman is like on order changes.....

Nah, I've got the revised rear mudguard on mine, it still doesn't cover enough of the back of the bike. I'll keep my Mudsling order on the system.

Here goes, a box arrived today .

Inside one puig hugger the finish is perfect and matches all the black plastics, the bracket has been beefed up and than powdercoated to match the plastics.

Cost £146 I personally like it, it complements the bike and does not look like its been thrown together .

Its like a tarts handbag and still only 1 mile on the clock :(

:nenau:nenau WARNING :nenau:nenau

Just fitted mine and found the rear bolt supplied (the one that replaces the brake bolt) was too short and only went in by about 4 threads. I had to replace it with a longer one that I cut down. Top tip is to look at it from the Rt side of the bike, when you turn the rear wheel some of the holes in the disk line up perfect for you to see the bolt coming through the caliper. :rob Don't make it to long though as it will hit the disk!

Cheers for the heads up Mermoto, you was bang on. I replaced the m8x30 with m8x35.

sorted :)

Blokes .... how much clearance is there between tyre and Puig hugger ?? I'm on road tyres 99% of the time but have a couple of events later in the year where I'll be using TKC's. :thumb2

Wait for the Mudsling, Giles. The hugger will be a disaster if you take the bike offroad.

That's what I'm thinking ... :thumb2 The Hardalpi tour will be mostly gravel, but it's the increased bounce and suspension travel that I'm thinking about. Shouldn't affect it in theory but in practice ....

Shouldn't be long before the 'sling is available.:thumb It's only taken them over a year!

Well the mudsling is out and initial feedback appears to be that it could have been bigger :(

I've been holding off buying a hugger, waiting for the mudsling but now I'm not so sure the wait was worth it.

Mudsling fitted

Ordered Machineart Mudsling on 6th April and it arrived from USA today.

I am really pleased with the way it fitted and with the understated look of it. I'm sure it will do the job . The most impressive thing is the way that the device blends in so well with the rest of the bike. My wife wanted to see where the $200.00 went and was unable to find it.

I now will have to go for a ride when it's messy to test it out!
