ive just paid revs over £100 to have my 1year old wilbers shock fixed. Problem was muck/road/grime/water etc had ran down the shock sock i had fitted and settled nicley in and around the rebound adjuster hence corroding the inner workings and stopping the rebound adjuster from working. I cleaned and dryed the bike after every wet/dirty outing but i hasnt made any differance, anyhow im now looking for a rear hugger/mudslinger to try and save the shock getting plastered with shit, im looking at this

Hey pistol piete ,don't waste money on a hunger the shite will still go over the top an still get your shock filthy ,get to nippy Normans or the like and get a mudslinger as itL cover the inside rear mudguard and in front of the shocker and completely stop any shit /water getting onto your shock as well as stop filth been thrown onto the backs of your legs to 100% ,much better value long term than any hunger

Have a look in a trailer shop and get a trailer mudguard for about a tenner, these can be fitted with out too much hassel and work. A mate has had these on several BM's and they are brilliant.

+1 for the mudsling. I've had huggers on other bikes but IMHO the Mudsling does a better job of keeping crap off the shock.

agree, I ACF'd my bike and it now is covered in salt and slush all except the shock which is spotless, must say something?

I was a group buy via one of the vendors on here Val maybe? And it was about £60 if I remember right. I will try and look up who it was but they were going to stock them at the time so no wait time if they still have them.

mudslinger ordered from NN, not much difference in the price by getting one from america and with the free postage offer from NN i was able to get e side stand ext as well all for £124 bargin, for all the advise guys

ps. would it be ok to remove the plastic bmw rear wheel mud/spray/splash guard thing when ive fitted the mudslinger, or does it serve a worthy purpose apart from looking interesting?

I have both on mine, no problems with them rubbing.

Ive got an Ilmberger hugger which I cut away at the front and fitted a rubber patch to clear the ESA gubbins. the back of the bike was still a mess. I removed the standard shovel. The bike and me are now less covered is crud.

I suspect a universal mudguard run from the front right over to the shovel would solve the muddy problem. A hugger type bracket would support the mudguard and if painted black would not affect how the bike looks.

This sort of thing, though Ive not checked if the radius is suitable
