Hey all I hope this is ok to post, if not then apologies. I’ve been touring for about 11 years and usually I forget something or end up repacking due to me not being organised so I’ve gone down the route of using spreadsheets to try and keep me on track but more recently, given I work in IT I thought I’d create myself an app, well more of a website for me that would help me with packing for a motorcycle trip.

I figured I’d try and get it hosted online and share it with others so thought I’d post here if anyone’s interested. It’s free as it’s certainly not at a stage where I could even consider doing it full time and charging for but I’d be interested in some honest feedback. I realise its not going to be everyone’s cup of tea though.

Essentially what I’ve created is a site where you can configure all of your luggage options, tank bag, panniers, etc, then create a trip, allocate which bags you are going to use for that trip, then add your items, allocate them to a bag and then pack them and see a running tally of how your packing is going. You can also copy lists from previous trips to new ones to make things faster. I’ve got a whole list of new stuff being deployed to the site this Sunday evening but for now if you wanna take a look please feel free. It’s hosted with free stuff so I don’t guarantee it’s stability or reliability as it’s a bit of a pet project right now.

The site is: https://pack.thestammeringbiker.com

I’ve created a user guide which you can find here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SA4TQLht1rezWjueVt40ESU9vf3h-K4C/view?usp=drivesdk

On Sunday night I will be deploying these updates:

It’s nice.
I started getting forgetful (and older) lately and have a number of checklists for packing as well (Notion pages).

Didn’t prevent me to drive to Italy without my car’s V5 this summer :D
Not the first (or last) time either.

I went away a few years back (and had made a list) and left my V5 on the kitchen side which wasn’t an issue until I got pulled for speeding in Austria……then again in Switzerland

I really like the idea and will have a look on Monday when I can use my large work screen. Not too good using my phone.
I love these sorts of ideas and sharing them. I always make a list when I travel in the bike just to ensure I don’t leave anything behind. 👍👍👍

Looks a good idea, i use my own spreadsheet packing list (but its just that..... a list for each box) and its certainly useful as to what fits where and making sure not to forget stuff.
I'll have a look at it next week, sounds way better than mine.

The mobile view “should” be ok on most phones but to be fair I prefer using my iPad or my laptop to do the initial setup and all the faff typing stuff in
