Well it had to happen sooner or later, I've had the bike six months now without any "incidents" ... no longer!
I was at a bike rally in Yorkshire on Friday night. Parked in the car park, but in doing so, did a U turn on some very wet grass. Span the rear wheel loads due to cack handed clutch control, but parked up and thought nothing more of it.
A couple of hours later, after putting my tent up, I decided to move the bike down the road for some reason. Came out of the pub car park, gave it some gas, and feck me, suddenly the rear wheel is at the front, the bike is on its side, and I'm lying on the ground fumbling for that stupid kill switch.
I think the moral of the story is: be careful when your rear tyre is full of mud!
And the other moral is: fit engine bars! The bike is totally undamaged
I had the BMW panniers on at the time, when the bike was lying down it was resting on the engine bars, the branch guard and the panniers. Some small scratches on the H+B bars, not even a scuff on the panniers and branch guards
