I fancy a hard trail ride: Sat 16th June. Llangollen/Vrynwy area.

Hi

I am trying to come too.

Like psycomotor my bike wont make 80 miles on a tank (XR400R) so have to look at a way of carrying extra gallon.

havent done a lot of off road recently but used to do motocross and trials. Think i am up to it

Where exactly are you RV'ing at 0930am so i can be there.

Kind regards

edgey

Be aware of my plan....

Edgey, have you read the earlier posts on this thread?
This is not a ride for the unsure.
This will be a very tough ride, that will last all day. It will be very hot, and you will get stuck, so self recovery will be on the cards. If you can not do this 100%, it means that once the other riders have lifted their bikes, they are going to have to lift yours.
I can only say that if your not meeting the criteria mentioned earlier in the thread, then you are best waiting for my easier rides, aimed at the lesser experienced riders.
I've got a route planned that is going to stretch me and the other attendees.
Sorry to sound harsh, but I'm telling it as it will be.

Timpo.

More trail ride dates to come.....

One day i'm gonna be able to do a ride like that, but today that's not the case. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Wreford, I will be running an easier route in a couple of weeks, this will probably be a two day event, with a full spectrum of lanes (but down the hard routes).
The pace will be ideal for improvers, so why not try and get up here for it.
I signed off last night feeling a little guilty after replying to Edgey, but I want a tough ride and if guys or girls are not totally up for it, then they're best waiting for the easier loops.
Believe me, I have seen it many times before, where people turn up and struggle like hell, it is no fun for them or the other riders, but worst of all it is dangerous!
Apologies to any people I may of upset, but please keep an eye on the 'off road events' posts for my two dayer, get your name on it, and I promise you a great day's trail riding. A single days is not a problem either, so you could come and just do the Saturday or Sunday.:thumb2

Regards.
Timpo.

and up the Allt-y-Badi Pass.
QUOTE]

Jeez, I said I was never going to ride up it again, Feck:eek:
Todays puncture and the thought of going up Allt-y-Badi prompted me to fit a new rear tyre......not that it'll make any differance:o

Don't worry about upsetting anyone, 8 or 10 years ago I used to be scared of you and your rides from Chirk, now you're a pussy cat by comparison:D :augie

Good, you can give me a tow up, and Heartbreak Hill......I'm sooo tired:green gri

Tired old Timpo.......................

Ok Edgey, looks like your in.:thumb
0915 at the afore mentioned rv, we will leave there at 0930 prompt.
I'm really looking forward to it..........especially now Tim is going to give me a tow for half of it!:augie
See you on Saturday morning.
Timpo.

What time do we leave:hide

Haven't you already left sausage head..................
Your meant to put the glue on the inner tube, not sniff it!:blast
I've lost the plot now.
Having read about your rubber investment, I've picked up some new skinz for the DRZ. Only because I was worried about your Berg's clutch, pulling me up the Badi.:augie

Sounds like we have quite a team now for Saturday. A couple of young lads from work are coming on their KTMs, apparently to show us how it's done nowadays.........................

I best get to bed early.
Yawn.
Timpo.

Sorry. Can't make this one. Saturday commitments and all that.

Looks like I'll have to wait for the Sunday easy ride in a couple of weeks.

Phew...............;)

Mr Spout, I will do a ride at the end of the month, most probably a two day ride. That means just a Sunday will be fine for you to join up.
I am in discussion with a B&B pub about accomodation should anybody need it.
Let me get this weekend of 'carrying Timolgra' out of the way, and I'll put details up about the next ride, June 30th/July 1st.

Timpo.

well, the bike's ready but am I:thedummy

feckin heartbreak hill is bad enough going down let alone up:eek:

Still don't worry Timpo, I've got a tow rope:augie

What's the boulder for, Tim? Is it some sort of Swedish traction aid?
Just finished putting the tyres on DRZ, so if you stop on Heartbreak Hill, just lie the Berg down so I can use it for some extra grip...........:augie
I'll have to nip out for a pint now, and then early bed.

Joking aside, I have a pair of fencing pliers, dewalt drill, claw hammer and some fencing nails ready to pack. I reckon we should try and open the next lane just passed Schoolhouse Lane. We can take a look whilst having a food stop.

There was some serious rain last 48 hours, this will have transformed may routes into quagmires, Dyfnant Forest will be terrible.
Bring it on...................:thumb

Timpo.

Crashothon

Timpo,

Shame I can't join you this weekend, look forward to the pics!

Think you are right about this rain making the going a little more interesting!

Who is going to keep score on the times you and Tim bin it now that I'm not there? :augie

Hope to get out with you all soon,

cheers, Rick.

Hey

Is everyone else either trailering or putting there bikes in the back of a van

Am i the only idiot planning to ride 75 miles there, 120 miles trail riding and 75 miles back.................on an XR400!

Its no wonder people think i will need lifting my bike ;)

Looks like tomorrows OK, hope i dont get a flat:blast

Edgey (the weak one)

Tim,
I like the new tank, that was quick delivery:D
Heartbreak hill feckin petrifies me. Bikes fuled and tyred so I'm off for a belly full of beer, as recommended on the site for the night before a ride:thumb .

I am hoping that the prospect of riding the tracks in Dyfnant after heavy rain will keep me going till the end.
See you in the morning
