I found a cheap FD for sale from a Baja team who are selling off their spares. However, on the underside it has HP49 and 31/11 stamped in to the body. The lady who's taking care of administering the sales think that the FD might have been extra heavy duty units or had different ratios specifically for the rally. Anyone heard of this before? I was under the impression that the BMW teams were using standard gearing :nenau

FD drive may have been raised to give them more flat out top speed on a 33/11 bevel:nenau

Ok, so I had checked but that was the middle of the night last night and I hadn't thought to remove the protective plate. Did that this morning and the 31/11 is there but not the HP49

I'm coming to the conclusion that it's good enough to get as a spare.
