my bike has been to Hilltop and been re-mapped (done by the previous owner ), today I have carried out a 6000 mile service and the bike will have to go to the dealer for the service interval to be re-set , if there is an ECU update available should I have them carry out the update and will I need to go back to hilltop for a re-map ?
Thanks
Dave

From car remapping , you are changing the ecu base map, any service ecu updates are loaded as an add on to the vehicles current base map so they shouldn't effect the remap, but I would double check that the bikes ecu's are the same

I just had my 2008 GSA done by Hilltop and I asked him this very question. Geoff told me I don't have to worry when future servicing is carried out as he 'locks' what he does and it will not be changed.

I must say it makes such a difference. It now pulls smoothly at low revs in quite high gears and is just nicer throughout. No change in fuel consumption. Tested it over a 2000 mile trip around Europe whilst attending this years Garmisch rally:-)
