If you’re looking for a GTS there’s 3 on eBay.
Agreed, and it would seem to be in line with their philosophy of developing a broad range of models based on the proven CP2 and CP3 platforms. The move towards lighter adventure bikes would suggest an MT09 Tenere would be popular.Just a shame that Yamaha didn’t continue to develop it as the years passed. A new Super Tenere with the MT09 triple engine would be a great addition to the Yamaha range.
I did think about it taking sales from the Tracer. There would have to be a reasonable amount of difference between the two to make it viable.Agreed, and it would seem to be in line with their philosophy of developing a broad range of models based on the proven CP2 and CP3 platforms. But… would it just steal sales from the MT09 Tracer? The line between ‘tallrounder’ and adventure bikes-with-road-tyres is becoming very blurred.
AND the XT1200 Super Tenere.
All 3 didn't receive much press acclaim, and therefor didn't sell well, and subsequently were short-lived. Shame really because all 3 of these bikes (IMO) had a decent future but we'll probably never know!
Likewise, I sold my 2016 XT1200 after being offered a really good deal on a 2018 GSA, I still miss it.Such a shame as the XT1200 Super Tenere was/is a brilliant bike. I sold mine 2 years ago and still miss it even though my Tracer 9GT+ is brilliant, I still have a sneaky search to see if there are any nice low mileage examples around.
The Xt1200 was a fantastic bike .AND the XT1200 Super Tenere.

At least it only stays heavy, rather than getting heavier like the ridersA guy I knew had one and loved it.
Very heavy and expensive when new. Stays heavy as it gets older.

Think I’ve just bought just such a bike. Found a Ducati dealer in Dundee advertising a 2024 model with 2k miles on it. It’s a NZ import, current owner returning to uk with 20odd bikes apparently. We’ve been talking about it for a week or so and today while I was out on a ride the wife rang them and put a deposit down. As long as the uk registration turns out ok and the V5 arrives it’ll be ours.Such a shame as the XT1200 Super Tenere was/is a brilliant bike. Not selling my current one. That’s got 37k on it already and will still be my main bike especially as I’ll be selling the Pan and my Bandit to help pay for it. The new one will be a little more pampered and kept for high days and holidays and when the wife’s with me.

What’s so good about them?I miss my XT1200 . Took me to the Nordkapp and back . A great bike . Wish I’d kept it
They’re very similar to the BMW R1200 GS but without the reliability worries. A great, comfortable tourer. Good luggage system. Parallel twin as opposed to a boxer. What’s so good about them?
Never ridden one, so educate me please![]()
