I need a pic of a R1150GSA top box lock

I noticed my top box seemed to be rattling a while ago. I took it off and found two of the bolts on the mounting plate were slightly loose - I'd toyed with the standard GS seat set-up and can't have loctited the bolts when I put it back to standard GSA configuration.

When I noticed this and gave the box a tug to see if it was indeed rattling, something fell off and I picked up the only thing that I could see on the ground - see pic #1.

It looks like it needs to be glued to the inner patch of the catch on the lock, to provide a firm close - see pic #2

Can someone with a top box have a quick look and confirm my suspicions - and then recommend a good glue that won't let it come off again

Both me and a mate had problems with the locks on these boxes. both of us resorted to bolting it to the rack. OK, not as practical as the quick release, but much safer and in reality, how often do you want/need to take it off?

Quite a lot. Never had any problems until I took it all off & put it back on

Has yours got that bit on the clamp?

It doesn't look familiar.. .but then I'm having difficulty working out what's what from you pic...

1st pic is the piece of plastic I found. It's just sitting on my top box for the pic (hence the BMW logo)

2nd pic is with the top box on its back, ie the part that faces you when it's on the bike, and is of the underside of the latch/lock system that secures the top box to the mounting plate on the bike.

If you were able to take yours off easily & have a look at the latch, you'd be able to see if there was an extra piece of plastic on the mechanism.
