I need an easy to erect good quality 1 Man tent

We have the 1 person version of this

Although this is looking good.

By now I’m assuming she/he bought one and has had many blissful nights in it.

Be good to know what was bought, it will be a recommendation to everyone, just as with saying “please”, only polite.

I’ve just bought a Durston Xdome, new batch just been released. It’s for carrying on my back so weight is critical

The reviews I’ve seen on YouTube are all good for the X dome. :thumb2
I have an X Mid and it’s definitely well made and very roomy, light and surprisingly strong in the wind. IMG_1726.jpegIMG_1725.jpeg70387403711__4508B230-2330-4576-A783-E0A339E3F16E.jpeg

Dirston Mid is one of my favourites:

Packs light, plenty of space for one person, decent vestibule area and a great design. Very flexible layout. I'd personally avoid pricier single skin tents. All of them get dripping wet with condensation and are more noisy when the wind picks up.

Someone invented a trailer test once, a trailer for a car that turns into a tent.

Can someone hurry up and invent the Pannier tent?

A lot of folks get put off a particular tent because the pack size doesn’t fit inside their luggage.

You can give yourself more options by keeping the poles separate say on the top of your panniers and packing the tent inside, or in a waterproof stuff sack

I do this with my Vango Omega 3 man

Tents developed for Bikepacking are a good fit for motorcycle panniers.
Typically the poles are 30cm long folded rather than the usual 50cm+.

Keeps the love of your life, nice and cosy too. :green gri Now where did that lassie go?

Vango Force 10. Job done. If Carlsberg didn’t tents.
Don't get the orange one though, shit for sneaky wild camping. Can be seen 100 miles away specially when you turn a light on too.

When I first started mountain camping the orange one in canvas was their only one. It was that or the Blacks Mountain. Those tents and a Blacks Icelandic Special sleeping bag. I remember getting and still have my first Karrimat. It was a revelation.

I started off with a used Vango Force 10. Hated the tent! Cramped, no real headroom even when just sitting up Relatively heavy to carry and wasn't especially waterproof in prolonged rain. Tents have come a long way since those days. Wouldn't be my first choice for unobtrusive wild camping in bright orange!

Whilst camping in Langdale many, many years ago (too many to remember) a storm went through in the night. Come morning the only tents still standing were the Force 10s and the old Blacks tents. All the supposedly modern nylon tents were just piles of twisted poles and torn nylon. The occupants of these tents were either sheltering in the toilet block or in their cars.
Robert Saunders was one of the first to produce a half decent nylon lightweight tent. We used one for a few years until it started to tear here and there.
I have a modern nylon or some such fabric Vango tent nowadays.
