I-Pod earphones

Love listening to my I-pod on the bike but think the Autocom set up with speakers or standard i-pod ear pieces don`t give good enough quality and still have too much wind noise going on.

Found some noise suppression earphones in Curry`s and bingo, perfect sound and no outside wind noise. Just like having earplugs in when the music is off. OK, they are £35 but well worth it IMHO.

I don`t know who makes them because the packaging found it`s way into the bin but they are really good.

I bought some in ear canal Sennheiser Earphones. Much better than the standard iPod ones. CX300's for about £25. Much cheaper than the Autocom and helmet speakers solution.

Both these makes actually sit in the ear do they cus i have the same problem. Best ones i have heard with I pod have a loop over your bonce to hold them flush to the side of your ear but no good with your helmut on. Willing to give either of these sets a bash if there that good.

Has anyone tried the Sure E2Cs? they are a good price on amazon at the moment and supposedluy have superb sound isolation. I'm just not sure how comfy they will be under a helmet:

My Sennheiser ones fit firmly in the ear canal.

I have 2 other sets of sennheisers (HD555 and PX100) and think they are great. these little in the ear phones were also great but mine have broken so thinking of now getting the Shure's.

Before I bought the Sennheiser Earphones I checked with a colleague at work who is into his HIFI. He has a pair of £100 Shure earphones. He let me try them and they are fantastic.

I went for the Sennheiser's on the basis of cost and the likelyhood of breaking them. Also I couldn't justify a pair of £100 pair of earphones attached to a £90 player.

my daughter has got a set of these i borrowed them one afternoon when she was not looking great bit of kit, no wind noise comfy under a helmet great clear sound.

I've owned & used the Shure E2C's, also the Sennheiser CX300's. Both were only okay, I think what are much better are what I've been using for the last year Etymotic ER6i's

why not use earphones designed for the job like the ultimate ear custom monitors?

not in the same league as my etymotic er4s for quality, but very good + they don't stick out of your ears to catch in your helmet lining.
