I rode an 1100 for the first time today..

Some of us left the flock and went non-standard sans decals. :D

I got my first 1100GS this summer in the fastest red colour and am still surprised how much I like it. Almost old enough to be retro cool and makes me smile. I do have a soft spot for the snot coloured ones.

It looks a nice bike but the filing cabinets don't really suit it. And traffic filtering would be virtually impossible.

Not really... I filtered through tail backs on the M4 and M5 for about 3 hours last summer... also all through the devon/conrwall road... not to mention daily though some city traffic. Never had to filter in france, spain, switzerland (I lie... I did filter in switzerland and france when cutting through val d'isere towards switzerland... those swiss don't seem to appreciate a bike getting around them very much), austria or germany... never was enough traffic .. I have verns 10inch wide bags and if my handle bars will go so to will the rest of the bike. One ever clipped one mirror and that was with the tocano handlebar muff two winters ago. With that said... I guess filtering isn't for everyone.

I have Vern's panniers too, and as Canuck says, if the bars go through so will the panniers. Just don't cut in too quick in front of the guy you just passed.

BTW, never mind the colour, watch the fekkin side stand.

Never a more erroneous word spoken!

I regularly filter on mine with Zega 'filing cabinets' fitted. I've overtaken sports bikes that have tried to follow only to fall back PDQ.

It's all down to knowing your width and spatial awareness

It took years of commuting on the M6 to get the confidence. My pillion still wimpers at times... :D

.. and really, really liked it :thumb

I could happily own one.

Two youngsters said 'nice bike mister'

Here it is.. (and don't be distracted by the nice baps..)

Nice bikes, them..

Now I really like the wheels in black, who does them?

Smudger... don't know! This is Steve @ Motoscots Loaner.. so I'm sure if you ask him he'll let you know. I did think they looked particularly good.

I'm probably up there later this week so can ask..
