No pleasing you WC lot is there, some moan, oh another test ride report, some say give me more
ok if some of you tossers want to know then..............briefly
i didn't like it,
engine was very quick but lacked the character of my 2012 GSA
gearbox clunked, a lot, throttle was jerky, it was bluetyres looked horrible ( anakee3 ) and Worthingwelsh said i looked like a twat on it
Wind protection not as good, mirrors worse than the GSA, could feel the engine through the clutch when you backed off.
cant be bothered to write anymore, go and ride one yourself.
please take this in the spirit it was written you moany sods![]()
I took my F800GS in for a service and while waiting tried the new WC. A huge difference - but never having owned an R1200GS before I couldn't compare. (Bloomin' expensive though). In the end I bought an ex-demo machine with 3500 miles on the clock.
Took it up to the Highlands last week on a 1300 mile round trip. All I can say I am really delighted with it. I have no gearbox issues (maybe they need to 'wear in' a bit). The engine is very impressive - a bit odd at idle where it shakes the bike just a little - but when giving it some large through the lake district that motor gets really addictive around the 5000rpm range. A nice gorgeous howl that is surprising to find on a 'touring' type machine.
Wind protection is amazing. It's the first bike I can ride without earplugs - ever!
I had to ride back home in one day - 550 miles all on main roads. Boring but managed it - something that just wouldn't be possible on the old F800.
I could write more - but won't as I'm sure I'm boring some of you.

Maybe it's just better to say some like it, some don't. At least we have a choice.
