Managed to get a test ride booked in when they launched a couple of weeks ago. Really enjoyed riding it, felt very quick, suspension was good, it tipped into the corners well and the gear changes felt very slick (compared to my 2017GSA). I had the manual version with the quick shifter and it rode very well. I was particularly impressed with the wind protection from the screen. I’m 5’11 and didn’t feel any wind blast at all. It certainly felt like I was sat on the bike rather than in it and I actually really enjoyed the ride..
However, I’m still not sold on the looks of the bike. It definitely looks better in the flesh but if it was in my garage I think I’d constantly be thinking why did I change from my 1200. I’ve had a 1250 GS (was never a fan of the 1250 GSA - looks less aggressive / slimmer than the 1200), something to do with the crash bars on the 1250GSA.
So whilst I really enjoyed riding it I won’t be changing anytime soon…
