I've still not been put off, so to cause a fight between factions (but in a genuine spirit of ignorance)....
Assuming any olde bus would need a shock/spring and fork set up to suit my lardy lard...
And assuming they all need summat doing to make the front brake less poor...
Is there any reason I would want a paralever GS over a G/s or t'other way around?

You don't! That's a mono. After that photo shoot the front fork spindle mount in the slider had snapped and the gearbox needed a rebuild

It was a photo shoot for classic mechanics. I think it was a guy called Chris riding it. Very impressive wheelies, he was in 2nd or third gear for that shot.
He asked me at least three times if I minded. I was up for seeing a g/s wheelie as much as he was. Those forks are a little fragile though and one cracked when the wheel came down. The output shaft bearing didn't like being under load with the oil down the opposite end of the box and called it a day.

Looks a bit like this one.
Thats a Prototype GS, lots of parts that never made it on the production bikes. Is it the same as yours?
