After a few soakings on my daily commute I feel that my RST might need to be used for dry days only.

That leaves me thinking that I might seriously have to succumb to the dark (and v expensive!) side and look at a suit that will keep me dry all year round.

Ive done the Rallye2 thing which was great while living in Italy but miserable here so have long sold it.

I have a Stich but find it a bit on the chilly side so Rukka it will be.

The Armas seems to be the business so going to check our local dealer for sizing today - am i correct in thinking sizing is more or less on the generous side so a 54 for example in a Rallye2 would be the same in a Rukka?

Re pricing the Biker Land de looks most favourable at present with excellent feedback from what i can gather.

Ill probably email them for a best price and go from there.

Cant believe though that Im considering spending the wrong side of a grand on a suit though :blast

What happened the days of Motomod,Belstaff and Fieldsheer - all in for £100 :rob

You're getting old now Trev, that's whats happened. :P :D

No doubt about it, the ArmaS is a top quality suit and will indeed keep you warm and dry. I too take a 54 and find the fit between BeeM stuff and Rukka to be similar.

If you balk at the cost why not look at some of the top end Dainese stuff. I've got a 'Tundra' for work, like the ArmaS it has the waterproof element baked onto the outside so no water logging of the outer layer. Good video review of it on revzilla.com. Some bargains on t'internet at the moment.

If you register with biker land.de you may find stuff is even cheaper, I've bought online and visited the shop, always outstanding service.

yes just bought armas set off biker land, very helpful, had to push a bit to get a better deal, after they made an initial offer/price which itself was a lot lower than anything obtained from uk sources.
stuff arrived boxed up ok and exactly as ordered, 9 days after sending payment. they use dhl (not surprising as dhl run german postal services!)
but dhl had it over to royal mail which then just does its normal standard parcel thing here in uk, supposedly trackable but whilst anice looking webpage, nothing ever actually changed right up until van arrived outside house to deliver!
gear itself is really well made and by far the best I have seen.
bike land do not take credit cards by the way, so its paypal or bank transfer...
paypal charges were a lot higher than banks for me....

Bought a rukka argonaut pro shell suit from bikerland de in the summer, warm and dry. The outer doesnt get waterlogged and dries very quickly top suit and top service from bikerland de. the 54 fits as you'd expect a 54 to fit and is quite generous compared to other makes. I tried a lower end rukka on to find the right sizing and the argonaut fits the same. I like the lockout on it and is easy to use once you get used to it.

I used Bikerland to purchase some Sidi Adventure boots which saved about £50 on UK retail pricing - I knew my foot size so didn't need to check sizing. The shipment via DHL was fully tracked which on their website showed every single movement of the package - about 9 in all from memory. The only incorrect part of the tracking was that once they passed it over to the Royal Mail it showed up as being delivered whereas I had to go and pick it up from my local sorting office. Excellent service.

Very important to try on for sizing.

I normally wear a standard size 50 for leathers.

With Rukka 50 was good for the jacket but the trousers come in various lengths. I ended up with a 48 short for the trousers. A 50 was too long and baggy.

V true :blast

I remember buying a 2 piece orange lined suit from the Kawasaki Centre on Donegall Pass for £25!

Kangol Apache for £18

It was 1984 though :D

Rukka Armadillo

Can recommend Rukka Armadillo if they're still available. At the cheaper end of Rukkas range, with proper zipper and press stud fastening. So far never got wet whilst wearing it and quite robust quality of manufacture.

Need a 54 so let's see how much of a deal I can get :beerjug:

Trev, I bought a Rukka Argonaut suit last June from Module, cost £1350, I told Keith I was going to buy from europe and gave him the chance to match.

I was well pleased. ;)

I might try that. Biker land are £179 cheaper than him on the jacket though :eek

Only problem is they only have black/blue combination. New production run wont be with them until Feb :blast

He's still miles off on price as are all the UK dealers.

Germany it is :beerjug:

Trev, might be worth holding out for Jan sales. I got my Rukka from FC Moto in Germany, checked prices both before and after Christmas and got 15% off on Jan 1st. Their Armas price is the same as Bikerland today but didn't check postage on either site.

Pity Keith couldn't match it but I guess the guy has to make a few bob for himself

Thanks-yes will do. I will have to wait for my size to come in anyway so will see who has the best deal going then :thumb2

normal length 85 cm (C2)
> short length 78 cm (C1)
> long length 92 cm (C3)

According to the label in my new ARMAS trou's they have changed; the label says
C1= 80 cm
C2 = 87cm
C3 = 94 cm

Just got them today as a warranty replacement for my ARMAX trousers. 3 years old, worn in all weathers all year. They started to "seep" around the crotch and the stitching inside the left calf was coming apart. They were replaced without question because the colour was fading !

C2 is the regular length so that's the part to get right. From what I can see thats the length you will automatically get unless you specifically order a short or long option.

FC Moto are looking the best option at the moment as they take credit cards and also Ive used them several times in the past to satisfy my love affair with Daytona boots :blast
