I took both wheels off and then this happened...

Question:

My Scarver don't have a center stand.
How do I remove bouth wheels at the same time? Hmmm.....

Is it less trouble to remove the battery and make sure the petrol tank is empty, and just put it to bed? I mean: Lay it down on a mattress or something?
...It can't fall off....

Am I clever or am I the opposite?

:idea

hindsight is a wonderful thing. Thankyou for sharing that with us, but I had no idea just how clever all the others are, like nobody else ever gets it wrong....or has the candour to share that moment when they do....?

why don't you check back in the thread & you'll see i freely admit to getting it wrong....

...oh... and shared it with you..

careful you don't get hurt when you fall from that high horse of yours.

Well, as it's not a GS, you hold the bars in your left hand and lift it off the floor.

Then with your right hand, remove the wheels.

Gently lay the bike down and take wheels to tyrefitter.

Refit in reverse order.

If you are left handed, lift with your right hand.
:D :D :D :D :D

Thank you, Iain! :)

I'm lefthanded so I'll lift it with my right hand, and I'll remove the wheels with my right hand.

It's so easy!
I don't need my left hand! ;)

(...hmmm...
Did I get this right?)

:D Liv.

You know, I've been pondering why this happened.

I've had both wheels off the bike in the past, with no problems whatsoever. I then came across this little piccy and all is revealed.

All the other times I'd removed both wheels, my topbox was on the bike. This must have added just enough extra weight over the rear of the bike to make it balanced.

Just for the record I took both wheels off together as I wanted my knobblies fitted for Howards off-road excursion at Bakermans Hogroast. Looks like I made the right decision as I was the only one not to fall off :goof

And was the pink box under the back to support it this time? I also take of both wheels without hassles normally and only support it on the back paralever.

Anyway these things do happen to the best of us even if we have been fiddling around with bikes all the time. I believe there is people who actually don't know how to take the wheels off and let the shops do their replacements, air checks etc.........Luckilly they got the basics right filling up with fuel. ;)

All sorts mate!

cheers

Looks like you've found the ultimate solution for those "vertically-challenged" riders out there...

Me too, me too!!

I did it too! :beerjug:

Hint: Strap the centerstand to the crossover pipe so it can't fold over.....

Hey why didn't I think of that too! I'm short-legs so when I eventually get one I'll just take off the wheels and use a little pink box (with feathers on) to make the bike fly....

say, Mr Tickle, what's in ur box?

This counts as an off-road crash!

So you were actually the first to fall off!!

Also, you must live in a dodgy area because in Liverpool at least they provide bricks when they nick the wheels.

'Blimey mate you should take it to a garage.

Please do not carry any more work out on this poor creature until you've had your brain put back in.

Has someone disconnected YOUR battery without you realising, maybe when you were asleep? How do you manage to remember to breathe in and out each day.

I'm sorry for your bike, get a professional to do the work for you it'll be cheaper and safer in the long run.

It doesn't take much to tip a GS off its CENTRE (English spelling) stand in 2 wheels in mode, lord knows what you were thinking about. At least the wheels will only fit back one way so you shouldn't be able to cock that up.

Sorry professional pride and all that....much sucking of teeth, that could have been really expensive you know!

The Mechanic:

If Mr.Tickle did'nt do this, we could'nt have a good laugh either!

So let's spread some laugh to the world: Keep on do blunders!:p

Liv.

Turn it upside down :D :D :D just like a bicycle !!!

Gecko:

I did that with my 1979 Vespa Bravo!

If I'll do that with my Scarver; could you please help me? I'm a big girl now (according to my mum), but 187kg is too much for me!;) :p

:p Liv.

Sorry Mr. Tickle

Looked at my last reply and it now seems very harsh, please accept my apolgies. Especially as now it appears there are others that try to wreck their bikes in the garage/shed/ dark place.

Without counting the bikes that i owned as a bike dealer, I personally have owned to date 56. But still after 46 you ought to know what you are doing by now eh!
