Hi Novice
I also want a 1200GSA and have got a test ride booked for next Friday, I`m hoping that by riding the bike it will convince me that its not as intimidating to ride as it looks.
Very interesting to read about the standard 1200gs low seat option, every little helps. But just a quick query, does the standard 1200gs seat have less padding than the GSA seat, as high mileage comfort is (hopefully) a big + with the GSA.
Can`t wait for Friday, fingers crossed for the weather.

The standard GS seat is ok. You want to get off at the 190/200 mark when you top up for fuel. Starts to irritate me at 150/160 .. but can last to fuel stop.

I tried the Tourtech Kahedo low seat. It felt different but won't know how comfortable until actually using it for 200 miles.

I have a low seat on my 1200gs. It has got less padding than a standard seat and I start squirming after about an hour and a half. Standard seat is much better for longer journeys, which after all is what the gs is all about. I had to spalsh out on an Airhawk to make it anything like comfortable. Keep the standard seat if you possibly can would be my advice!

I have got a GSA and lowered It by fitting the std 1200 low seat and fitting a std 1200 rear shock,
It rides as good as ever and inspires confidence, and most importantly!, you do not need to replace both or even one stand.
Ask your dealer to fit the low seat on to try it,

Can I buy your GSA Seat?!

Top looking GS = TT engine bars, silver spoke wheels, GSA luggage rack, frame protectors and ali oil cooler guard.:Motomartin

(and a GSA seat if you can get a cheap one!)
