I'm sorely tempted to trade in my old 2004 GS for a 2010 GS I've seen. It is a 30th anniversary edition with the red seat. A little garish but I think it could grow on me.
Any pearls of wisdom on the 2010 bikes? Comes with spoked wheels and ESA. Is the main beam headlamp any better than the early model (which is pants)?

If you're looking to swap, have a look at a Twin cam.

The best overall boxer engine to date...IMHO...of course.

I test rode it today - 2010 twin cam model. Wow, what a difference. The engine is so eager and exhaust note is miles better. Feels more like a muscle bike in comparison to my wheezy 2004 GS. I've got to have one now - just got to find one at the right price!

Maybe the 2010 was remapped?
The headlamp on my 2008 GSA was ok on dip but main beam made little difference so unlit roads were not pleasant to ride. A Les Wassall HID kit on both bulbs has sorted it.

Get some HID's fitted makes a hell of a difference even the cheap ebay ones, i bought a set of H7 units off ebay about 4years ago and they still work perfectly well, been fitted on three bikes so far oh and a car in that time so plenty able to handle moving between vehicles..

Did you purchase.?
In my opinion the Anniversary model is worth a premium over a standard bike, one I only found out about when they were all sold..
My friend bought one new, rode it from dealers & put into storage, still in storage & I've worn 2 bikes out during the last few years, his is still worth a fair few £££
Anyway, do the deal & post a few Piccys..

Just sitting in storage? What's the plan - guessing it might be worth a mint in 50 years time? Or not....

No idea what the plan is, I think it being a special edition it may go up in value, but he gets to look at it occasionally, I told him to use it, I bought an 11 plate GSA a few weeks after his purchase, but alas not the anniversary model..
