anyone know why theres huge blocks of ice in my petrol tank,i,ve just removed the inards whilst doing a tank change and wondered what the noise was whilst shaking the tank about, next thing i know theres a huge block of ice droppod out.i thought petrol was,nt supposed to freeze

Sir has water in his tank... it happens.

treat it with a dose of Wynns 'dry fuel' every 6 months and that will go a long way to controlling it.

otherwise you will have problems.. water in the fuel and then getting into the injectors isn't nice.

Do I assume the weather is a tad chilly?

Not a problem here currently :comfort:comfort

Also a bit suprised, you must have had contaminated fuel?

could be - could also be that your drain tube is blocked - thats fairly common too.

Very serious too!

Easy to check out though. There are two tubes under the bike. Both are overflow pipes. Find them. Smell them:drool

The one that dosn't smell of petrol is tube that's connected to the filler cap over flow.

Clean this tube with a rag and blow as hard as possible ... you may find a large piece of moss or other dirt suddenly flys out of your filler cap.

Stopped water getting into my other bike. BMW didn't check it. Their good about replacing injectors though:augie
