Okie, anyone on the Iceland Trip 2 (21st to 31st) who wants to share spare parts and toolboxes to help optimise the load? I am on a 1200 GSA LC ... or is that (sharing tools, not the LC :D) a bad idea? :nenau

I'm not on an LC.

Sorry if this is stupid question, but is the toolset really that different?

I will be on GSA TC

No idea on that Jon. The question from me was also from a 'no knowledge' point of view. I am just now starting to build out the tool set and tinkering around with the bike. With just 75 days and 16 hours and 20 minutes  for the flight to Iceland, I am worried :D

I use an old laptop carrying case as its flat and roughly Same dimension as the top box so can be lay flat and low with luggage on top. Jump leads etc in the tool box.

I will have my GS911 with me if that helps?

+1 for the Kreiger (see p71 of Chris Scott's book) if it don't fit in it don't take it!

Managed 2 solo trips on a hexhead to Morocco with the Kreiger + GS911 + ring antenna + furlpump ECU + tyre repair kit.

Doing Iceland with you on a clapped out F650GS, so I hope someone has a tow rope :blast

Yup, we'll all have tow ropes. Hope your bike is powerful enough to pull us out

That is such a great tip! Love it, will being doing that for my normal bike trips :D

Just something for you all to think about.
How high is the air intake on your bikes there will be lots of river crossings.

Not this again !!

Not high enough yet, but I predict the vacuum cleaner will stop working end of May.

A couple of Mars bars will be far more useful :)

Hmm.. Suppose a list of servicing tools is slightly different than a 'oh crap, what have a I got that can fix that' tool kit.
