Just something for you all to think about.
How high is the air intake on your bikes there will be lots of river crossings.

30 inches max on GSA
how deep are you thinking of going?
my concern now is if we are going to encounter anything deeper and my bike goes over in the middle and Hydro locking the bike
A fully kitted GSA is a big heavy lump to man handle out of a deep freezing river
then there is the kit in the paniers that will be drowned. some of it will dry of course but phones and cameras could well be junk after a fall in anything deeper?
sleeping bags wont be dry for the evening camp?
most of my stuff will be in kriega waterproof bags or a large 'overboard' waterproof bags but stuff will get soaked.
all bullshit aside I have genuine concerns regarding this element of this trip.
I don't want to trash my gear on this trip
does our route really have to take us through deep water. you guys on your gazelle like KTMs may not have a problem but I understand there are a few larger heavier bikes going on this trip

Guys, a serious question. Riding gear will get wet. Though I have Gortex clothing and boots, nothing can stop water from entering your boots if you're standing in water or even walking across. What are your recommendations on this? How do we manage that? This is a "off road " adventure trip the routes have been well researched, there will be rivers to cross.
Pack light, use dry bags and bin bags for your kit, lap tops Leave at home.
River levels depend on the weather conditions.
If necessary we will walk the bikes across the river.

Andy, don't worry if it's too deep for GSA you will have company as we can chat together whilst we wait to be rescued![]()

With regard to walking bikes through River, I found waking alongside the bike and using clutch to control pace an interesting exercise in the ORS course. Perhaps I need a refresh before we go paddling

I'll be letting you go 1st then
