ICELAND FEATURE VIDEO PART 1

Darren - Nice video :thumb2

Presume some of the "on bike shots" were taken with something like the GoPro hero ?

Some really clever angles for the shots - particularly as they were on rental bikes... I guess some were from helmet and bike screen (facing rearwards) - but would you mind sharing what mounting system you used for the cameras ?

I particularly liked the one from the back of the bike (facing forwards) that got rider in it...

Looking forward to the next bits... :thumb2

Island er mjog gott ef pu fara med motorhjol!

Excellent! That has got to be the best Iceland video i've seen yet.....!

That's why i've been to Iceland seven times by GS,jeep and in May cycling to see Eyjafjallajokull, Vestmannaeyjar and the Golden Circle. I guess it just gets better and better each time!

Thanks, you are right the onboard shots were done with a Go Pro HD hero
The main shoots were done with a Panasonic Camcorder HDC-SD100.
I used a Manfrotto Magic arm with clamps mounted in different places around the bike. Its very much trial and error because the Go Pro has no monitor to view so you don't know what you've got till its done, which is a draw back for set ups.

Thanks Darren

Really cool. great photography, editing, music.

It really make me want to go to Iceland. The icelandic government should be paying you to make this !

Cheers Mick, I can't wait to back mate, I find myself watching my own work and wanting to return, sooner rather then later.

All the best

Darren,

There have been some great videos on here but you have just raised the bar.

Iceland is a great place to go. I was there in 2005 for a weeks fun in 4x4's and snowmobiles it was fantastic.

Cheers for the compliment Johnny, for people who enjoy "adventurous activities", Iceland is heaven on earth.

I can only echo what other people have said. Cracking footage and excellent editing. I've not been to Iceland for almost 20 years but I'm inspired, another visit must happen.:beerjug:

Thanks Very much

Cheers for the nice comments guys, its very strange, I get excited to return watching my own video. I am contemplating a return visit next year, we have unfinished business with a road called 26, which runs right through the highlands, Pal my Norwegian mate wanted to do it after we finished 35 but we wanted to go further east round the island. You have to leave with a reason to come back.

Darren

Very nice film.
As with the trailer, the production and edit set it aside from your average 'bike trip video'.

Good job :thumb2

Thanks for that Matt, in fairness to others, film making is a hobby/trying to be work thing for me. I love filming bike our trips especially, it's just something I enjoy doing.
I have a lot of unseen footage from the Iceland trip and I will attempt a doco style film with more of a narrative thread.

Regards

Darren

Great film, really well edited. Whoever you rented the bikes from might well want to buy that as an advert for their business.

I'm already starting to think about next summer and a possible trip there.

Great :thumb2

Iceland is on the list of places to visit one day and your short film makes me want to go even more now.
