iCloud storage question

I have been getting a load of what I assume to be scam emails telling me that my iCloud storage is full recently.

The reason I started using iCloud was because I was running out of storage on my iPad- fair enough, but I’ve only used 280 GB of the 2 TB, that’s according to my iPhone and iPad, I’m assuming that they both use the same account.

So can you please just tell me that it’s all a scam then I can toddle off happily and ignore this crap. As I really don’t want to lose all the photos I have I know I’m a perfect target for this sort of thing.

Sounds quite scammy...

Do both phone and iPad use the same Apple ID?

Have you definitely paid for 2TB of iCloud storage?

Do you definitely only have 280GB of data on there?

If the answer to all three is yes then it's a scam.

The other way of checking is to check the actual address these emails are being sent from. If it's a scam it won't be from apple.com but might be from a.pple.com or any number of other similar but fake domains.
