i have the autocom 200 set up and just got the icom f25sr radio and want to hard wire the radio to my 08 gsa . my question is do i have to upgrade to the 300 systems to get the power for the radio or is there any way to hard wire the radio as the voltage reqd to power the radio is lower than the bike i think its 7 volts

I think that the official line is that the 300 has a bigger power supply and extra heat sink to reliably power a bike-to-bike radio.

Rubin, the Active's are not designed to bike power any transceivers so it will not be possible for you use your system for this set up. Also due to how the F25's are designed we do not offer any dummy battery connections like the Kenwood Part 1402 as the parts would cost a lot to make them up. The F25's have got the battery connections in a different area compared to the older F4's and F22's etc and this is what is making the parts cost so much.

thanks rich this is what i found out if i want to power it off a autocom i have to upgrade to a 300 . apparentlly the is a lead you make for my icom were you have to fasten the lead to the positive and negative via screws.
i wondered is there another route to take ie as any one reduced the power down somehow to hard wire the icom straight to the bike , i just wondered before i upgraded

As with my other post really we do not stock any parts suitable to bike power the Icom F25SR's due to how the radios are designed. They are different to the older F22's where the screws are visable making our Part 1425 easy to fit. The screws on the F25 are hidden or in a different position where the radio would need to be stripped down in two peices to allow to gain access to the screws etc.
