Been on a run today and plugged in 3 waypoints to the GPS BMW Nav 2 ( SP2610) unit

Tried do download the three new waypoints onto an existing mapsource file with existing routes and waypoints.
The problem is the new download (waypoints) wipes off my existing waypoints and route .

I want the new waypoints added to the existing mapsource file.without wiping off existing data.

Any ideas & thanks

I suspect if the new waypoints have the same names ie 001 / 002 / 003 they likely will overwrite the original waypoints.

Ether, re name them in the GPS before downloading to the PC or open Mapsource without the original waypoints, rename them there, then merge them with the original waypoints, (ie copy and paste them over)

Never thought of trying to copy and paste from another file, it works.

This may help you, but more by luck than judgement I noticed that you can open Mapsource twice - at the same time. Makes copying and pasting a bit easier, as you dont need to constantly open and close files.

If you want to copy a load of selected waypoints, press and hold "Ctrl" (bottom left button) while clicking on the waypoints you need, and you can cut / copy / paste in bulk. Similarly if you need all the waypoints transferred, press and hold the "upshift" key (the up arrow beneath the "Enter" button), click on the top and the bottom waypoint, and it marks every point in between, so you just need to cut and paste once.

Also found out to press Control and letter A and it high-lights all the waypoints at once , ready to paste to paste.
