Identify the part

Hello all
I have a 2008 R1200GS and I have taken off the right side tank cover off and underneath the fuel tank are some moulded "things" (I can't upload a photo). What are they for?
I am sure the great and good on here will know.

Sounds like the Carbon canister location for California/USA requirements. Not used for Euro spec.

I have never seen anyone come up with an inventive way to use these for anything, the GSA version is a nice tube shape in the profile of the tank that has been used for all sorts of things.

*Brilliant. That's exactly the bit I meant. I am thinking of locating a box of relays in the space behind the cover.*
