Identify this tank

I'm in the camp of those who think it is an adventure tank (30lts).

When you look at the picture of the tank shot from above you can see two fold lines which run from the base of the left and right logos up to the fold line which has the filler cap. On a standard tank those fold lines stop at the point of the where the tip of the red logo is. Because the fold lines in the picture are longer, it implies that the lobes are wider.

Also the adventure tank has a pressed indentation at the base of the left and right lobes near the welded seam. You can just see it in the second picture showing the damage. (top left corner of picture).

FWIW here's a pic of a 30 litre tank from a similar angle...

God knows. My iPad pinged before and told me I'd been out bid and the item has now gone off eBay. Displayed as item ended, I only placed a bid last night with 4 days to go. Probably for the best.

I've known more than a few people who've thought they'd bought a 32ltr tank off ebay and ended up with a standard tank.

And no refunds as it didn't state the capacity in the advert. Just used the meaningless "catch all" phrase "ADV tank".

Just ask them to send you or post a picture in the advert of the underneth. It'll show the crossflow link tubes and then no confusion.

Didn't Civil catch a cold on one of those after getting it shipped from Italy or something? :P

Edit Found it

I vaguely remember that italian tank fiasco, but can't be sure who it involved - funny it if was civil :D

He's obviously taken it off auction because he has had a private sale, happens all the time. No commision or paypal charges, and he got the price he was after rather than risk a lower price at end of auction. Bird in the hand......
Hope it is the 30ltr tank that ant1967 has bought and that he got it for a good price.

I'll let you know when it arrives. I'm in the States untill next week so I will keep my fingers crossed.

The BMW emblems left and right are fatter on the adv tank than the simple tank.At the photo the tank has the fatter emblems.

Well the tank has finally arrived. I have been kicking myself that I had made a big error of judgement but after opening the parcel I've found I've purchased a 30 ltr adventure tank with the correct fuel pump. I paid £200 for the tank and £75 for the pump. The tank has a few more marks on it and a small ding but overall I'm a happy chap :thumb

Just a few pics to prove it's the real thing
