Idle rise and fall

Thanks, I do know a non BMW shop, I could ask the question.
A gs911 would be handy, but it's a lot to fork out for a once in a blue moon use.
I've exhausted my easy fixes apart from the air sensor, before spending say £40 for a shop to do a two minute test, do you not think that money would be better spent on a gamble on a sensor?

Where are you based ?
I’ve a GS911 I’d plug in for you

Just unplug it !

It does the same thing When not "Seen" it defaults to a standard fuel map

If you had done what was suggested prior to buying the Lamda sensor you would have saved the cost of it !

So when it is hot and Fucking about ? Find somewhere safe to park keep the engine running and pop the throttle pos sensor off

Does the messing about stop ??

If not? then It is not that part!

If Yes? Then it is that part!

Go ride some more and confirm the above!

That's how diagnosis works !

Just Unplug the Lamda and go for a long run, as previously suggested, You may have a cable chafed and grounding!

It will NOT do the bike any harm, it's just the standard map for when the bike is below operating temp and the lamda does not have input

Are there any modifications on the bike? A chip? A Can? A K&N air filter?

When was the last time it was serviced? Plugs changed ? Valve clearances set ?
Does it misfire under heavy acceleration, by any chance ??

All info re it running and giving issues is good and necessary when trying to find an intermittent fault

That’s a shame - I’m West London .. I’m sure they’ll be someone on the forum with a GS911 who lives near you
Thanks anyway, that's a kind offer. I'm looking at a cheap nexus scanner on e bay......I would also need a round plug and the android app. What your opinion on these please?

Sorry, I’m no help, I’ve never used that scanner.

Thanks for the info.....I read in my manual that the moronic will have to be reset if the lamda is unplugged, so I've been very cautious. Recent coil packs and plugs. New air and fuel filters, new lamda, clearances done.
Bike goes great. Just this niggle on tickover.

Just came back from a 170 mile run, and the bike is ticking over good.....not perfect, but only very slight differences of say 10-20 rpm.
I'll keep a watch and try as you said if it comes back.
Meanwhile, I'll try and get a obd2 scanner sorted.

10-20 rpm...😆 Chill, enjoy, don't worry, save the scanner cash for now...😄👍

Dooode There is 200 years of Experience between a dozen people on here

Why Would we give you bad advice ????

The 1150 is nothing more than a big opposed twin which now is controlled by Caveman Tech!!

You don;t need to reset anything it adapts to its input sensors against a default 3D Fuel mapping system !

So it can only really be the Lamda, maybe the TPS with a carbon scratch tracking a momentary change

You don;t need it 10 to 20 rpm? Change

That's in spec 1050 rpm at working temp Plus or minus 50 rpm
