ever had the feeling you've been cheated
if i was to buy a new 1200/800...

i would be doing a big search here of all the probs folks have had with theirs and putting together a wee notebook and keeping it on the bike...some are simple ones others not so, but it would not put me off buying, but i think it would be a great thing to have if the bike does, stop, not start etc...while i was out.

Yes i understand that there is a 2 year warranty on a new one, but still would like to have a list to hand in case it was something very simple to get me home from the asrehole of nowhere and not have to wait hours to be recovered...

why would i need a notebook, cos i have a crap memory:o

an idea while i was looking at a new 1200 GS/GSA 800....:augie

decster all the info you need is here on the site, ive got a similar list, but to use it properly you need to keep a spare ews antena and a fuel pump relay in your kit. fitting instructions are on this site, just search. other thing rgar can stop you is the side stand switch, also a workaround on here. also your tool kit needs to be enougth to do all the things that may happen. again look on here, I had a thread for recomendations a while back and a good little set was built up. Its all already on here, just search and print.

yeah i know all this:thumb2, i was kind thinking outloud as i looked at some new bikes today while i was killing an hour. I said to meself that they look lovely all shiney and new, but some of the hassle people have been through:augie, i would get meself a wee notebook.....

..and i thought it might be an idea for others if you take my meaning, some of the work arounds etc when you dont have a blackberry thingamajiggy to get on here....

...but am a happy camper on me 1150:D:cool:

my brother has the 1150 (Ash on this site) and loves it. The 12 is a bit faster, handles a little better and is lighter. But if yours works best keep it. I think quality deffinately went down hill after the 1150's. The 12's are expensive and problems can happen. Mine is an 06 bought new last year in May, I've done 14000 trouble free (touch wood) km's and love it. Next time I buy a bike it will probably be something like a Versys... and a KLX 250, I think these would suit my needs better. The gs is not really an off raod bike, sure it can go there but when new its nervy simply because if the repair bills.

go to your local dealers and ask the 'mechanics' which model they get the least problems with
