Ignition Coils?

Does anyone know if the main plug ignition coils on a R1150GSA are the same as in anything else, for example a Audi A8 or other German car. Mine have become quite rusty but BMW want around €95 each for them.
If the same ones are used in a car it might be possible to pic a set up cheaply on eBay.

They probably are, but several of us have been trying to ferret this out for quite a long time, with no success so far

As Bill says, a few have tried but no ones had any luck so far - I've been through the audi/volks/bmw/skoda/french cars parts book and found nothing.

Digger had an idea about suzi/jap bikes coil caps possibly fitting, just waiting to hear what he comes up with.

I was going to try some Loctite Rust Remedy on them to see if it stops the rust and maybe give them some new paint if I can’t find some cheat new ones.

The rust is a red herring I've seen failed coilcaps that look perfect.

Only joking, they just look a mess and you have to blow all the flaky rust out before taking the head covers off.

Motorworks have them listed for £60.63, at todays rates that's 66.23 Euros.

That is a much better price and like you said the exchange rate is favorable for me at the moment.

still on with it, i have several more coils being borrowed as i speak, and will try em next week sometime
