Our 1100GS (the shed) has a intermittent fault. Now and then the ignition light will come on after start and stay on. not full brightness just about half bright. I can then switch of ignition and switch it back on and its cleared.

Any ideas

Thanks in advance

If you have revved it and it stays on and its intermittent then it's probably a mucky connector. BM's have lots of connectors running low charges so a bit of crap can make the difference. K's were well known for the charge light glowing as you went up the rev range! Cured with a bit of connector cleaning as the resistance is what lit the light. And there is a shit load of connectors on a K:D

I should have said. The light stays on regardless of the revs and stays on untill i switch off then on again.

I will take a look at the connectors

If you have no luck with the connectors Brian then the problem may lie in the section of the loom that runs from just below the front of the tank along the headstock on the offside to the instrument binacle.

I had intermittent neutral, fuel and oil pressure lights on my '01 1150, sometimes faint and often not working at all. Steptoe said that I would find at least one broken or rotted wire in that section of loom and lo an behold I found two. When the breaks were made good all was back to full working order.
