Ignition Live

Hi All, apologise in advance, as I am a novice and new to the forum. I have a 2007, R1200GS and want to add auxiliary lights onto the front crash bars. So I get that there is no fuse box, so wired them direct to the batt, but I was wondering if I could wire them via an ignition live. Found some suggestions on the internet that say you can use the side light live or the diagnostic green wire under the seat, however these just send the aux light relay into rapped clicking. any advice.

Welcome to the forum,

Couple of things, your in the wrong section, this is for the later 2013> watercooled models,

you have a hexhead which is one of the oil aircooled units .

On my 06 hexhead, i tapped off the +Ve lead that went to the dipped headlamp, that went to the relay

If you do a google search you will find a simple wiring diagram you can follow
