So here's what my 1200 has ended up like after I've fiddled about with the cosmetics and add ons a bit. Its not very different but subtly so, I think. I've not carried out any performance mods, the bikes pokey enough for me and I'm happy with the sound etc.

Theres a few TT bits like the beak thing, a cockpit cover plate and clear LED rear light. The indy's have chromed bulbs which I've given the info to Nippy to try and procure as mine came from Germany. The tank panels were sparyed to match the frame (I wanted them to match the metal tank sides but the spray shop guy reckoned they would end up looking almost a matt-ish white so persuaded me to og with the frame clour...Im still not sure. Too subtle a change perhaps). There mesh infils in the holes. I bought mine from BoxerDesigns and its wasnt worth it. They were little better than some I had knocked up myself and still needed messing with a glue gun to attach them. The screen is a home cut inspired by the Joker (thanks!) and others. It was hard to get a good clean edge so I trimmed it with Oxford screen trim. I'd have rathered not, but its ok.
I havent found a light protector yet that suits, the TT one looked pants with the cut screen and the mesh one sticks out too far IMO. You cant really see but there's a Reynos grill in there sprayed black. I may take the grab rail off but its handy for manhadling the bike and I attach a strap of my little Kriega waterproof pack to it so its useful. When they get bashed the blue bits are going silver too.

And the main thing is I love riding it, its great on roads however shitty and however rough the surface (roads) gets I can just go on, and in town it rides like a motard. Very happy :D

Looking good

Rich looks good mate and I agree they are great Id love to know where the chrome bulbs come from as ive been searching for them for months and have the clear lenses with stinky orange bulbs in them defeats the object somewhat!!!! cheers ADV:P

I got mine from boxer design http://www.boxer-design.de/en/weisseblinkereer1200gs.htm
(at bottom of page) They are about £20 I think for a set. P&P was a bit of a con tho. Ive sent the details to Nippy to see if he can source them. They are scooter bulbs of some kind and the pins actually fit properly. Couldnt track them down in the UK tho. HTH

On the link abobe for some reason 'weisseblinkereer' comes out funny in the middle of the wed link

The Hepko & Becker ones. They did the job on a low speed drop. I like them, only snag is theres a thick powder coast on them which chips off when they do their job. But they sand down and a quick spray on the bike did the trick. Not too hard to fit although some people have had hole alignment issues.

Rich,

Now that's a very nice bike! :) Not too much, but just enough to make it look very "factory"-sober :D

Congrats, and enjoy! :D

A truly Brilliant bike and first class colour choice :-)

Do you still get buffeting with a screen that small. I have been flirting with the idea due to some other postings, however i am reluctant due to the fact that i do alot of 2 up 'touring' in Europe.

Ian.

Ian, I don't really get buffetting as such, I suppose its more a clean air blast! Its not especially comfy (but ok) with the Tour X but ok with my normal road helmet. I must admit I have bought a second OEM screen for touring use (£43 plus £3 for the little black clip in bits on the sides). I just prefer this much more for back lane riding as you feel a bit more 'involved' being not behind that big old screen.
One thing you could try is take a spin with the screen off and see what you think.
I must say tho that I think the amount of cut is critical and will differ depending on rider height. You could possibly end up with turbulent air. Mines low enough that the air for me is clean.
But for £43 for a replacement if cutting doesnt do the job its not so bad. Kept me out of trouble for a few evenings!

Iain it looks like you have a grey seat. I guess in that case it matches the original colour of the side panels, which I suppose was the design intention. Ive never seen a grey/grey in the flesh.

Everyone, thanks for the comments.

very nice, especially the screen. I was looking for where you purchased it. It looked like a aftermarket job. Excellent work.
