As someone close by works for openreach. I thought i would share this with him,(Chris) so here goes a very nice jobs worth came to my building site today with the two temporary PLASTIC signs that we had put on his telegraph poles so that the delivery wagons could find us as it is off the beaten track (in the avenues at Blyth) and we know what delivery drivers are like if it isnt in front of there noses they will miss it. We had placed them about two and a half metres up the poles so that the kids wouldnt reach them. They have been there since january but he told me they were illegal erections and he couldnt have men climbing up poles with signs on. Did they cover this at the working at height course you went to. I thought that you had to put your ladders up to the point where the steps start on the pole which is more than two and a half metres up. ANYWAY WE WERE IN THE WRONG FOR PUTTING THEM THERE TO START WITH SO LESSON LEARNT

"They" won't allow any unauthourised fixings on poles.
In Newcastle City Centre one particular manager photographed, removed and delivered dozens of signs (Parking restriction, do not litter, no dog poo) back to the council and submitted a bill for £55 a pop (the call-out fee at the time)....... "Line-plant Trespass" it was known as and we were encouraged to report such hideous crimes to our manangers...in fact I got wrong for neglecting to report any... :D

Strangely, we started to get loads more parking tickets in the Toon after that ....

I'd suggest your jobs worth was just that .... Give & take and all that...eh?

We are told never to park on pavements :augie

He must've been a manager :D

Spent quite a bit of time in The Avenues, before they did the rooflines.......
