Today I picked up my Brown & Gold 1980 R100RT from the New Forest...
I rode one of these to Nordkapp in 1984, sold it a few years later (for a K100) and have wanted to get one again for decades.
It's as good as I remember, really relaxing to ride, with bouncy forks and fantastic heavy flywheel engine.
There's a few things I'll be needing to know... first (of many) questions:-
Can a speedo be rebuilt..? (the needle wobbles about and the tripmeter doesn't reset very well).
Also, can the clips that hold the side panels on (the ones on the frame) be replaced..?
Is it possible to get front fork preload spacers..? (I remember the Ultimate Source did 'em).
Anyway, happy Airhead days are here again
