... so got that out the way, now for the question, I think I may have a problem with the linkage on my GS1150 GSA, a very kind man with a name that starts with S and ends in toe, mentioned that this was probably the problem, and that if I remove the plate, and re-lube, it'll all be fine again, now I'm too shy to call him again (I'd rather make a ass of meself here instead) but I've looked at the area of linkage, and can't find any plates to remove! So I'm wondering where I should stick my lube (so to say)?
Dr. Haynes isn't much help, there are two sections in his book, one shows what I'm hoping is the linkage, the other talks about removing gearboxes and other tricky stuff (there are four spanners on that section!!! )

Any help VERY much appreciated as the bike is needed like it's never been needed before, and that ain't no joke.
As always, thanks, for any serious help...

Plates ????

One bolt that holds the gearchange lever to the footrest hanger.

if you've a Y piece fitted, you can access and remove the bolt with the footrest hanger in place. Which is a big help as the bolt can be very tight.
If you've a cat fitted, you'll need to remove the footrest hanger ( plate), to remove the gearlever mounting bolt.

Thanks all, now where's the Haynes manual about using the search box :thumb
