im missing the harley

I identified you as a lost cause soon after meeting you:D
You listen to no one, no matter who they may be....You find your own path in life, be it the right one or the wrong one.
It matters not what others think, but it does what they feel.

You will do whatever it is that you want to, money is not that important to you.

You are a splendid chap.:thumb2

:clap:clap

having pondered on wise words from att ,i have decided to get a triumph bonneville as i cant afford a harley :D

FFS! they're crap. Bland as f%ck and as much fun as a 250 superdream almost as bad as those Kawasaki 650 and 800 things....have a word with yourself.

A 'new' one, or a T140..? I'd love something like this...

I could've bought one new in 1980, but got a Z650 instead :D

Have a look at Oblertone's Electraglide sport for a sorted tourer with an engine which is smoother than silk.

Must admit

I am not missing the ultra glide :eek. Well, only for 3 weeks while on vacation home in the UK. Plus temp in the mid to high 40's.
But, still worried about my black 2002 1150GSA left in the garage since bringing it back home in Dec 2010. As it is unregistered but a euro spec model, I need to get it fully serviced and taken to a MVSA station for inspection.
Luckily, I've found an indie 'RGM' in Lancs who hopefully can help me out.

Fitted a MPH speedo and swivelled the headlight beam to shine to the right which hoping will suffice.

It still looks great and a non-seller.

actually there is a point ,and it is that allthough i miss the harley a lot i dont miss it enough to sell the adventure for another one .
so the question for me is for a second bike runaround, do i get a new (ish) bonneville ,or a old sportster
bonneville i could live with ,with only a few tweeks .
sportster i would need to change quite a bit as i dont like them std ,shocks to high ,indicators horrible ,they need to be dropped to make them look nice especially as im a reall tart about how things look .

the 1200 gsa is nice but ,its nice what else can i say it doesnt make the right sound .

Not a Harley owner, but sharing your view......I gave my 1150 a lift in that department - sounds like a proper bike now. :D

Dave, listen to Uncle Twizzle..... Get a Sportster, make it a long term project.... turn it into what you want.... if you buy a Hinckley Triumph it won't last 5 minutes..... (in your ownership)
