Immobiliser

I'm trying to arrange insurance for my soon to be delivered 1200GS. Does it come fitted with an immobiliser as standard?

Indeed it does. The only problem is it's not a Thatcham approved one so most companies won't accept it. You could try BMW's own insurance scheme on 0800 200369 and quote BMW insurance scheme. Mind you, their quote was still £50 dearer than my renewal quote from Carole Nash. Good luck.

Yes, but it not thatcham tested/approved.

My insurers (H&R) told me that SmartWater, or similar will net the same discount as the immobiliser, so i've fitted smartwater to the GS
