I swopped bikes with a friend who had a BMW Akrapovic exhaust on his 1200 ADV and screwed its nuts off over a hundred or so miles in mid wales.

£420 notes it cost him (he said)

I don't think it's done much for the motor..ie it didn't feel as good as the original, especially between 4-5000rpm.

But the 'baffle out' noise sounded like a case of the over-runs (shits) strained through a handerchief, muted burblefarts. A stark contrast with an 1150 with no Cat and Remus 'ME109 sounding' pipes.

What a waste of crinklies!

I guess if you're going to go for the after market exhaust route, it's got to be un CATed remus headers.

Anyone else formed radically different impressions of the Akra set up.

Ben , is that you Ben?

A 1200RT, then 1200GT and now a GL1800 + 1200ADV.

Where are you off to next on your tour of the bike world?

Thanks to your impressions of the useless Akra, my next big mod will have to be a 150BHP turbo conversion from MAB power - www.mab-power.de

with fond memories of your contributions to bmrider.com :beerjug: ,

Fraid so. I am a self confessed fool and end up in the showrooms with monotonous regularity.

But while we're chatting beemerboy..I'd rather the GT was expunged from the list. Like my ex spouse, I can't find a polite word to say about it....:headbat

Nice to hear from you again

Ben
