I've recently bought - ( via a fellow antipode from here :thumb ) a Sargent seat.

Now - i used to get arse pain - specifically on the base of my spine ( cocsic?) on my std 1100 seat after literally 15 mins. ( ex-Honda lowrider and guzzi seats - ouch ! )

I bought a used seat from on here, remade by Melvin Hunter that was repadded and recovered over a stock seat base. That lasted about a week before i sold it on. Rubbish ! In fairness it may have been specced for a lighter person - but if its that hard to get it right, i wasn't interested.

I tried a furry, bobbly seat cover - which improved things by , lets say 100%. Much more comfort but still settled into the same shape after a while.

The sargent seat is - without any doubt - perfect. Its shape, height and firmness are spot-on. The quality is brilliant. I reckon i could do 500 miles easily.

I'm hard to please - but i can't praise these high enough 11/10 :thumb.

Likewise, I have fitted a Sargent sear to my 1150GS and am equally pleased with it. I live in Devon (away from the madding crowds) and one problem I find when following threads on after market fittings is that it is possible to find positives and negatives on most bits, but without seeing any of the kit and, even better, trying it, it is very difficult to form an opinion based on anything more than "more positives than negatives". At the end of April there is the Paignton bike festival which I intend to visit (my wife is helping on the Ocean BMW stand) with my GS which is fitted with Sargent seat, Stebel Nautilus horn, Fastway footpegs, Autocom + Bluetooth, bar-backs, MRA vario screen etc. Iwill willingly show anybody how and where the bits are fitted and let people try the seat etc for size. I will put a thread in this and the South West section in about a weeks time and see if anybody else would like to participate with their bikes, even better if others have different things fitted.
