Hi guys, Ive been out on my trusty steed tonight and noticed the left hand indicator no longer works when I press the button. When I press the hazards they all work ok including the green repeaters on the consul and the right side indicators work ok as normal.
common sense seize the switch is bolloxed but i thought i would ask the question on hear before i go delving just in case others have suffered the same issues ??? :(

Had the same problem on my '05 R12GS. In the end the complete left switch unit was replaced under warranty. A couple of months later the right side unit went, also replaced under warranty.

Just for statistics, what month/year is your bike ?

Good luck on solving the problem.

Me too, 05 May, left indicator went AWOL in the night, some one else had the same thing. twas the little nodders that make the button waterproof had a little rip in them so water got in....New switch in my case on the 25/04/09

Wait for ittttttttttttttttttttt!!!! £135 inc Vat and Del....

A possible fix

I had a problem a few years ago where pressing the indicator button was only infrequently successful in actually turning on the indicators. I went to the dealer expecting to pay for a new switch, but was pleasantly surprised when all they did was get a sharp pointed knife and gently lift the rubber gaitor that goes around the switch and "let the air out". There was no water in the switch. Rather, they told me that sometimes the rubber gaitor is "too" efficient and the air gets trapped inside and that stops the switch clicking in.

So look under the handlebars and try gently lifting the rubber gaitor from the side of the switch.

It worked for me and is worth a go!!!
