Whilst I was away on the bike over the weekend the LH indicator started to play up. On Friday it would work maybe 80% of the time given a few prods of the button. By Saturday it had given up altogether.

I took the LH switch assembly off tonight, but despite cleaning all around the little switch, it still won't work.

Ideally I don't want to have to buy a whole new assembly when all I need is a little switch, so if anyone knows where I may get one of these I would be most grateful.

The one on the right operates the horn and is working fine. The one with the little dust cap removed is the indicator switch.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've 'repaired' a similar problem on my 1150 by giving the offending switch a jolly good squirt of CRC electrical contact cleaner and lubricant. Works for months and months until the dust etc gets back in.

Thanks guys.

I have tried cleaning around the wee switch then a good squirt of WD40 to no avail, it's still not working. :(

From another post on the same topic I read that cpc.co.uk sell a replacement switch for a few pounds, so I may give them a ring this morning.

Aidan,

check out my post the switch worked a treat but buy a couple I blew the first one by overheating it when soldering, it's tight.. but the results are worth it.. good luck :beerjug:

A good thread Maurice, well done. :clap

My soldering iron was way too powerful and I burned out two of the wee feckers. I think I'll get someone who repairs electronic stuff to do the next one, bit in the meanwhile I have used the horn switch.

My left hand indicator has just given up. It was responding to a few prods, but now when I push it, the indicator indicator light lights briefly and then goes out. I did the usual and checked bulbs etc and they seemed OK - I might go and try some squirty stuff later.

(I did find a detached wire - but it had nothing to do with the indicators. Bugger :( )

In the meanwhile, any good advice????
