Are we right to assume that only the front right indicator lamp is illuminated steady and not flashing, and that when you turn your ignition off it remains illuminated?

Do the rest of the indicators and hazard flashers system work as normal including cancel?

Yes all other functions work as they should but the front right won't cancel. It flashes as it should, not fast.

It's most odd that the front and rear indicators on the right are not working together, as they are parallel in the loom.

I'm wandering if you haven't got a right switch gear problem. As the heated grip switch together with right indicator control are all in the same unit. If you have put a high current through the switches you may have melted something causing your problem. Though how this could cause the problem with only one indicator is beyond me.

Try disconnecting the right switch gear, and reproducing the actions of the switch at the main loom connector.

Left indicators work as normal.

Jump brown to brown/white they should cancel

Jump brown to blue/yellow the right indicators should flash.

Have just come in from garage. The rear right had blown and now replaced with new bulb. Now front and rear stay on together . Same problem but now both wont cancel.

We are making progress.

Have you disconnected the right hand switch gear and carried out the actions in post 4.

This will diagnose the fault down to either flasher unit or switch gear.

If you hold the indicator cancel switch on, willthe right indicators go out?

If so, I'd think the favourite would be a duff RH indicator switch unit...

I'm thinking the same thing. I suspect the right indicator switch is permanently made, welded closed, or a short in the wiring at the switch. The fact that the heated grips are blowing fuses could mean that some welding has taken place in that area.

Constant feed to the indicators from damaged wiring, if the heated grips are popping fuses all the time.

I would do a quick visual on the wiring, just in case and then take the switchgear off and start looking for the melted/damaged insulation

Thanks for all the advice, gonna take off switch tomorrow and take a look.
If I do hold down the cancel switch they will stay off until I release the switch.

All the indications are that the right indicator switch is permanently made. This could be as a result of your heated grip fault applying heat to melt the plastic and/or wiring.

You might as well check out the heated grips whilst your about it. Remove the throttle bar end weight and have a look at the wiring where it comes out of the heated grip. The black wire (positive) might have either broken or be shorting to the handle bars. This would cause your blown fuse.

It's most likely the right as this gets all the flexing.

Same thing happend to me after a large prang involving a summersalt (adventure crash bars!). I found that by pulling the switch lever back it stopped, so took off the top cover and replaced and all was well! must have become misalighned when banged so try pulling the switch back with your thumb only and see.

Found the fault as last. It was the left heated grip. Somehow the two wires at the weight end had come together. A bit odd really as there didn't seem to be any play in the grip so why and how it moved I don't know. Just need new grips now and happy days. Thanks again for all your advice. Greatly appreciated .
