Greetings all, from wet Ireland boating weather all weekend!

Hope this is the right place and format for this question
I have had an intermittent fault which for no reason ( ie heat bump, low battery charge or revs) means that I indicate, they flash at normal speed and then for no reason flash at super high speed
I checked with the bike stationary to see if I had one bad bulb, but NO
I have this problem occurring on both left and right hand sides
I have noticed that it does not occur in the hazard light phase
can any one help ?
PLease !
Race truck thanks you for any advice !

Thanks for prompt reply
excuse my ignorance , but is the relay easily found?
is it a standard common part or do i need to go to dealer with loose fitting trousers for low table treatment

Under the seat in a black plastic box. Many have the paint spec label on it. The cover hinges off and then if you turn the gnition on hopefully you'll be able to tell which one it is. IIRC someone one posted about swapping it with another but I can't rmember which one :o

BTW somewhere on the site will be a diagram showing the relays positions. :)

Thanks very much , a job for tonight
really appreciate it , I will post response in the AM

Just a thought but you haven't changed the bulbs or fitted different indicators with bulbs of a different wattage? This would produce similar symptoms though it would happen on every occasion not intermittently.
Hope you get it sorted.

Relay

Just take off the fuse box cover and turn on the indicators, you will hear the associatd relay clicking and feel it with your finger.

absolutely right 2001 1150 gs
one of the black ones with red seat , according to others they are not as good as the silver ones , which apparently are very fast and also do not give indicator trouble!

According to his profile: R1150GS :thumb2 .

:

I never jump to conclusions.

And i never look at profiles to see what bike -

if the poster can't be arsed to state what bike he has, i can't be arsed to look through the profile.

Plus if your doing a search in a years time because you have a similier problem, and you check out the posters profile - And he's changed his bike in the meanrime !!!!!. Who you gonna call, ghostbusters.

Look for the big picture, not just the simple here and now. :D

worried, dial needle damping missing

Greetings all
calling Steptoe, please:bow
I have as shown looked at the fuse box
sorted other clicking by holding ABS switch
held indicator relay pulled it out shook it put it back.
could not get indicator relay to click at all , BUT indicators are working perfectly all last night and this morning, on 50 mile journey to work
most concerning, is my missing dial needle damping relay which has a link wire in it .:blast
I also note that I have an after market laser alarm added to bike with immobiliser , does this have any bearing on indicators seeing as they flash when alarm is set?
Help please
Racetruck regards to all for your patience and help , :aidan
