Hi All.. Something I seem to have a problem with on my previous satnav 6 and the new connect and ride satnav is Volume when listening to directions.. this is strange to me as when using the phone the volume is high even at motor way speeds.. but when listening to nav directions can only hear when going very slow.. have tried to hire volume via connect and ride settings in nav settings and it's on max spoken instructions.. not sure if that setting is for volume! I know it's not my volume setting being to low on my sena srl2 head set as phone calls are well loud enough to hear even at motorway speeds.. I'm beginning to think the sat nav volume is set and volume can't be increased which seems very strange to me! if the volume can be increased on the connect and ride spoken nav instructions/directions please advise how it done!

Also can make a phone call via sena srl2 head set with no problems however if I use the connect and ride to call a number it dials out and the other person answer the call but I can't hear them and they can't hear me.. I've check in the settings that it's not on mute.. is it something I'm doing wrong or is it a case I can't have the phone connected on the TFT and the connect and ride at the same time. any help would be very welcome! this is not a major problem as I can still make and receive calls via my sena srl2 head set.. but can't seem to do through connect and ride nav. it may be the case you can't have the phone connected to TFT and the connect and ride at the same time..

thanks for your help in help as tech is not my strong point as I'm a old bugger.. lol.....

Hey Kwackless

If Im reading your post correctly, it appears you may have your connection setup wrong.
The CRN should be the centre hub for your phone and helmet headset, with no connections to anything else at the time of use (i.e. phone not directly connected to helmet headset or TFT, etc). I would personally delete all pairings and start afresh. The volume control you are seeing on the CRN screen, has nothing to do with the CRN volume levels, it is for a compatible headset, such as the BMW branded ones. Even with this set to mute, all my instructions, calls and music are at the same level in my SRL2 headset.

Take a look at the information below, which has been put together by a Facebook group member.

Victor-c .. Thanks for explaining the connect and ride connections set up.. I will admit.. computers/ sat nav's/communications is not a strong point of mine.. so I need to remove my phone/ sena head set connections from my TFT screen and only connect phone/head set to my connect and ride nav I.E CRN.. is that correct? I do have my phone and sena head set connected to my TFT screen as that the way I had when using the sat nav 6.. so I just connected my phone and sena head set to the CRN and did not bother to delete my phone or sena head set from my TFT.. so will delete my connections of the phone and sena head set from my TFT screen and leave the connections to my phone and sena head set which is already paired with my connected to my CRN.. hopefully this will allow for the higher volume when listening to nav directions.

P.S.. Next time I'm out for a ride around North wales will let you know a few days before.. not sure if your allowed to leave your contact number if yes will text you next time I plan on visiting the ponderosa.. if not.. may see you at the Ponderosa some time.. Thanks for your help!

@kwackless, yes that is correct, just have your phone and headset paired to the CRN. If you are using the Sena SRL 2 headset, when pairing it to the CRN, pair it as a mobile phone in the headset menu, not a sat nav. If you are using an iPhone, when it is paired to the CRN, go into the phones Bluetooth settings, and set it as a car stereo. These settings work 100% effective for me.

It is the same as for the Nav 6 unit. All initial BT pairings are first made with the unit, each in turn. With the phone BT disabled, I used the Nav unit to search for and pair with my headset. The helmet comms were then switched off. I then did the same with my phone, so that the Nav 6 was the only pairing for the phone. Then, each time I enabled the helmet comms and phone BT connections, they automatically pair with the Nav unit and from there I can choose relative volumes for media, phone and navigation. Sounds like the CRN is the same. Pairing the phone to the lid still works when needed but once the nav unit is switched on, it handles the connections provided that is switched on prior to helmet or phone.
